Vítejte na HSG!

Pokud jsi nový student nebo studentka na Univerzitě St. Gallen, vítej v naší česko-slovenské rodině. Začínat na nové univerzitě, v cizí zemi a často i v cizím jazyce, není vůbec jednoduché, a přesně proto tu jsme.

Bakaláři: pokud teprve začínáš svůj Assessment Year, věz, že spousta z nás si tímto ročníkem taky prošla. Rádi ti poradíme s předměty, bydlením i s tím, jak vůbec funguje život ve St. Gallen.

Magistři: pokud přicházíš na magisterské studium (ať už rovnou z Česka nebo Slovenska, nebo na výměnný pobyt), víme, že budování nové sociální sítě od nuly může být náročné. Naše akce jsou skvělou příležitostí poznat lidi mimo tvůj studijní program.

Máme také skupinu na WhatsAppu a účet na Instagramu, kde sdílíme pozvánky na akce i běžné zprávy. Stačí nám napsat e-mail a rádi tě přidáme, nezáleží na tom, jestli jsi bakalář, magistr, nebo jen sympatizant česko-slovenské kultury.

Těšíme se, až tě poznáme osobně na jedné z našich akcí. Domov daleko od domova.

Bachelor's Students

Assessment Year & Beyond

The first year at HSG, the Assessment Year, is demanding and shared with students from all over the world. Many Czech and Slovak students find it helpful to have a group of people who understand exactly what they're going through, in their own language.

We pair new Bachelor's students with more experienced members who can answer day-to-day questions about courses, housing, and life in St. Gallen.
Our welcome apéro at the start of the autumn semester is the easiest way to meet other first-years.
We share study tips and past experiences with the Assessment Year exams informally, over coffee or on our group chat.

No need to already know anyone: most of our members started exactly the same way.

Master's Students

Direct Entry & Exchange

Joining HSG for a Master's program, whether you did your Bachelor's in Prague, Bratislava, Brno, Košice, or somewhere else entirely, often means arriving without an existing network at the university. That's exactly where we come in.

We connect incoming Master's students with others in similar programs and with alumni from earlier years.
Our events are a relaxed way to build a social circle outside your specific program or major.
If you're coming on exchange for a semester, you're just as welcome, no long-term commitment expected.

Most of our day-to-day communication happens on WhatsApp and Instagram: event invites, casual chats, and quick questions about life at HSG. Both groups are warm, informal, and open to anyone who feels connected to Czech or Slovak culture.
